Грим Том (Graeme Thom)
Graeme was educated at Glasgow Academy. From 1949 to 1951 he was commissioned into the Royal Artillery and served in Egypt. He studied accountancy from 1951 to 1955 and then joined R C Grieg & Co. to train as a stockbroker. In 1974 he was made a partner in Shaw & Co., a London stockbroker that was acquired by ABN (now ABN/AMRO) in 1989. Following the acquisition, he was appointed managing director of the private client broking arm of the bank and acted in that capacity until his retirement in1995.
At the beginning of 1996, he was invited by the then senior London partner of Grant Thornton to assist in the creation of Grant Thornton Capital Markets. Over that period until his (second) retirement he was responsible for over 50 transactions involving admissions to AIM, as well as admissions to the Official List and transactions under the City Code.
Graeme has been coaxed out of retirement again to add his considerable experience to the ZAI team.
